Video: Sunday May 29th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that the island celebrated Bermuda Day, Convex Group partnered with Dame Flora Duffy, the Garden Club of Bermuda donated $10,000 to Waterstart, Conyers gave out their 2022 Legal Awards, the Lady Cubitt Compassionate Association donated $200,000 to rest homes, and local artist Meredith Andrews donated $30,000 to Keep Bermuda Beautiful and the Bermuda National Gallery were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Nahki Wells visited Youth Futsal League players, Jessica Lewis finished third in the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Switzerland, Equestrian Casey Truran won the Unsung Hero Award, Dage Minors finished third in the Twilight Series in Massachusetts, Bermuda archers won classes in the Belgium Icenation Shoot, and the Bermuda Cricket Board partnered with BF&M.
Other good news stories included Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy hosting a creative hat day to raise funds for the island’s special needs community, Dage Minors winning a 1500m race in Pennsylvania, Annabelle Collins winning the Dressage Class in Spain, Patrick Nisbett winning a class in Belgium, and the BDADay.com website being updated with a number of new features.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of Bermuda Day events and celebrations, Whitney Institute Middle School students cleaning up in Smith’s, the BFA Youth & Girls Awards Ceremony, and the Santo Cristo Dos Milagres Festival.
