Video: Sunday Dec 26th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Bermuda celebrated Christmas, Bermuda Commercial Bank appointed Neville Grant as CEO, the International Women’s Club donated over $10,000 to two charities, and the Raleigh Alumni Relief Team gave holiday food hampers, hot dinner plates and children’s gifts to over 162 community members were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
Additional good news stories included Caitlyn Bobb earning the America East Female Track Performer of the Week award, Elijah Daley winning two medals, Zeiko Lewis signing with Sacramento Republic, and Ricky Spence presenting Dr. Kyjuan Brown with the ‘Most Outstanding Member of our Bermuda Community 2021′ award.
In additional good news, Bermuda Dance Academy students held a fundraising drive in aid of the Salvation Army’s Christmas programmes, Appleby’s Bermuda office delivered holiday donations to the STAR charity, and a $20,000 donation from Deloitte Bermuda will see 13 Family Centre families receive an “all-inclusive holiday cheer experience.”
Other good news stories included Athene donating to Big Brothers & Big Sisters, the Cahow being featured on the US Audubon magazine cover, WISTA Bermuda donating Christmas boxes, Sancho Jackson scoring the Alicante Under 23 winner, Saltus students donating towards a food drive, Kaelin Cox and Errin Cann winning at the Phoenix Wushu Nationals, and the BBBS Girl Power Program launching a book club.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of Rotary Teens serving the community, the Budo Cup Karate Tournament, a family’s Christmas village display, Christmas decorations, and the Christmas Boat Parade.
