Video: Sunday Feb 20th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Jah-Nhai Perinchief leapt to a world #1 ranking, the Garden Club of Bermuda donated $10,000 to Friends of Hospice, Thomas Sinclair and Maxwell Dill earned Public Service Excellence Awards, SiriusPoint made a $25,000 donation to IAC, and Future Leaders Bermuda hosted its Monthly Mentorship Club were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Shelby Madeiros and her Siena Women’s Tennis teammates pick up a win over Colgate, Rockal Evans won again in the Australian Finn Regatta, Taylor Carrick helped Western Ontario win, Oliver Betschart made a strong showing to claim a win at the Landa Park Golf Course in Texas, Scott Barnes dominated the Skusa Winter Series, and WTS announced a Bermuda Triathlon event in 2022.
Other good news stories included the Freemasons’ Fund for Bermuda donating $2,500 each to PALS and Vision Bermuda, the Hamilton Princess getting set to host Chef Jahdre Hayward, the Joseph H. Rainey Room being unveiled in the U.S. Capitol, and Bernews’ Bermuda Valentine’s Day virtual gallery.
Additional good news stories included Trey Mallory winning a singles match at UNCW, Madelyn Moore winning the 100 yard butterfly at the First Chance Meet in Denver, the Hamilton Princess saying ‘thanks’ to frontline workers, Reggie Weeks and Marlyn C. Kelch earning the Linc Diamond Award, and BELCO scholarship applications opening.
