Video: Sunday July 23rd ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that T’Shun Basden successfully completed the HETT Certification Programme in Canada, the Ministry of Social Development & Seniors’ Ageing and Disability Services team earned the PSEA Award for June, Bermuda Hospitals Board awarded a total of $130,000 in scholarships to 13 students, and Appleby welcomed 13 students to its summer internship programme were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Bermuda’s Special Olympians were celebrated, Justin Donawa scored in an Altrincham FC victory, Matteo Cervino won the Zonal Regatta U19 in Italy, Bermuda’s under 19s won bronze in Jamaica, and Bermuda finished the Island Games with 10 medals.
Other good news stories included Frankco Harris and Jessica Sharpe completing an internship in London, BAMZ opening the ‘A Tale Of Two Islands’ exhibit, Dylan Hollis being featured in the Wall Street Journal, actress Brooke Burfitt starring in Grey Matter, Horseshoe Bay being ranked among the most beautiful beaches, the Child Development Programme achieving a new accreditation designation, Elliot School alumni giving education awards, and the Shotocup Awards being held.
