Video: Sunday Sept 17th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Flora Duffy won her second consecutive WTS World Championships, Island Construction Services donated $10,000 to Shachkeil Burrows, Bermuda Cancer & Health Centre is now providing 3-D mammography, and seven critically endangered Bermuda skinks hatched at Chester Zoo in the UK were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Waleed Lightbourne became the first male graduate of Bermuda College’s Associate of Science Nursing programme, Damali Bell and Sharye Tavares were named Cricket Players of the Week, Aaliyah Nolan scored in a North Texas victory, and Bermudian goalkeeper Detre Bell made the “best save of game.”
Other good news stories included Tobacco Bay winning the 2017 Experts’ Choice Award, graduate trainees joining the Bank of Butterfield, and Pink Café serving food for a worthy cause.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Karting Club season opener, the Bermuda Bacardi/Martini Tennis Cup, Premier & First Division cricket action, Raleigh Bermuda welcoming back alumni, students’ first day back to school, Robertson’s re-opening after a fire, the celebrity exhibition netball match, and the Bermuda Life Center opening.
