Video: Sunday May 7th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that Tah-mi Williams and Jaquan Burrows completed the Hamilton Princess’ 18-month long leadership program, the End to End was held, OUTBermuda launched a new annual education bursary and BEDC has entered into a multi-year partnership with the Global Atlantic Re foundation to provide BEDC Program participants with capital grants totaling $150,000 a year were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, UMBC relay team — which included Keturah Bulford-Trott, Za’kayza Parsons, and Caitlyn Bobb — won the 4×100 relay gold medal at the Penn Relays, Nicholas Jones advanced to the final qualifying round in golf, Johndell Cumberbatch won the men’s 1,500 metre event and Luke Robinson helped Whitehawk FC win promotion.
Other good news stories included the Bermuda College Foundation announced the completion of Phase I of the Oakley Capital Investments Aquaponics Lab, Trey Mallory and his UNC Wilmington Seahawks teammates won the 2023 Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Tennis Championship and Somerset Primary students read 3,000 books.
