News that The Hamilton Princess & Beach Club contributed $6,000 to three local charities as part of its 6th Annual Black History Month Celebration Dinner, the Green family has donated $25,000 to HOME, with the funds to “support HOME’s programmes, where it is needed most”, Ministry celebrated Bermuda’s cultural heritage at the Cultural Apprenticeship Programme Appreciation event, Scott Barnes concluded competing in the 2024 Florida Winter Tour – Round 3, making an excellent showing to claim the victory, athletes from the Bermuda Sanshou Association returned with 13 medals from the Phoenix Wushu Nationals were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In additional good news Sakari Famous won the high jump at the Louisiana Classic and was also named the Southlands Conference ‘Athlete of the Week’, Karen Smith and Panzy Olander 1st & 6th in Ironman divisions, SailGP ranked fifth in Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024 list, Rockal Evans helps Matador win in Australia, UMBC Trio, Za’Kayza Parsons, Keturah Bulford-Trott, and Caitlyn Bobb, win medals at Towson Opener amd Sebastian Kempe wins opening trophy race in Spain.

Other good news stories included Bermuda Education Network [BEN] expressed gratitude to Kattegat Limited for their $20,000 donation, totaling $150,000 over ten years, the Bermuda UK Ireland Fam Trip has concluded, with Kim Swan reflecting on the golfing event, students from Bermuda High School joined in the worldwide observance of Round Square Day, the City of Hamilton launches a robust public communications initiative this week aimed at raising awareness, fostering education, and rallying support for the charity HOME, the Berkeley Institute partners with Thomas for staff training, A Government Analyst from the Ministry of Health earned the Public Service Excellence Award [PSEA] for February and Beatnik Rubaine to appear on ‘World Cook’

More good news, FC Bascome U13 win USL Academy Cup, Bermudian footballer Jacob Madeiros struck a free kick for the May River Varsity team, the Chicago Red Stars highlighted Leilanni Nesbeth on social media, BASA National Championships day two results and BBA announce 2023 Cycling Award winners.
