Video: Sunday May 22nd ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that 93 students graduated from the Bermuda College, Ravi Cannonier-Watson will perform in front of the Queen as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations at Buckingham Palace, and Berkeley Institute students launched an impressive new local food website were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Caitlyn Bobb shattered her school record in the 400m at the ECAC Championships, the Bermuda Referee Association’s End of Year Awards were presented, equestrian Ki-Juan Minors won their class in Florida, Kaden Hopkins helped Essax win the Spanish Cup, and a former resident of Bermuda donated a 154-year-old gold ring — found between floorboards at Verdmont in the 1940s — to the Bermuda National Trust.
Other good news stories included Carmen Trott being promoted to Principal Engineer, Jessica Lewis winning the 100m and 200m at the Mississauga Ontario Parasport Track Meet, the Drafting Section Administration Team from the Attorney-General Chambers winning a Public Service Excellence Award, and the island’s Brownies holding their Jump and Be Fit Extravaganza.
